June 20 marks the Summer Solstice and The Longest Day, one of the largest fundraisers for the Alzheimer’s Association.

The turnkey campaign provides tools anyone can use to turn their passion into purpose, whether it’s sports, cooking or crafting.

While The Longest Day campaign runs throughout the year, June is the most action-packed month. This year has been no exception, with people throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana hosting fundraisers of every variety. From running and Mahjong to gardening and bingo, the ways people are supporting the fight against Alzheimer’s are as unique as they are.

Jaime Hendricks, The Longest Day manager for the Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana chapter, said there are more than 40 events happening in our region this month for The Longest Day.

“I’ve been bowled over by people’s generosity and creativity,” Jaime said. “There’s really something for everyone, folks are hosting events of all kinds, in so many communities.”
